چکیده

We apply a functional-integral formalism for Markovian birth and death processes to determine asymptotic corrections to mean-field theory in the Malthus-Verhulst process (MVP). Expanding about the stationary meanfield solution, we identify an expansion parameter that is small in the limit of large mean population, and derive a diagrammatic expansion in powers of this parameter. The series is evaluated to fifth order using computational enumeration of diagrams. Although the MVP has no stationary state, we obtain good agreement with the associated quasi-stationary values for the moments of the population size, provided the mean population size is not small. We compare our results with those of van Kampen’s Ω-expansion, and apply our method to the MVP with input, for which a stationary state does exist. We also devise a modified Fokker-Planck approach for this case.

0 Functional integral approach for multiplicative stochastic processes

We present a functional formalism to derive a generating functional for correlation functions of a multiplicative stochastic process represented by a Langevin equation. We deduce a path integral over a set of fermionic and bosonic variables without performing any time discretization. The usual prescriptions to define the Wiener integral appear in our formalism in the definition of Green functio...

Solving infinite system of nonlinear integral equations by using ‎F-‎generalized Meir-Keeler condensing operators, measure of noncompactness and modified homotopy perturbation.

In this article to prove existence of solution of infinite system of nonlinear integral equations, we consider the space of solution containing all convergence sequences with a finite limit, as with a suitable norm is a Banach space. By creating a generalization of Meir-Keeler condensing operators which is named as F-generalized Meir-Keeler condensing operators and measure of noncompactness, we...

Holistic Nursing from the Dossey’s Theory of Integral Nursing Lens:A Narrative Review Study

Introduction: Holistic nursing is a care process based on mutual interactions that lead to consciousness, empowerment, and well-being of the client, and also plays an important role in improving the performance and skills of nurses, promoting their professional status and independence and self-confidence. The aim of this study was to describe holistic nursing based on Dossey's Theory of Integra...

Density and Polarization Profiles of Dipolar Hard Ellipsoids Confined between Hard Walls: A Density Functional Theory Approach

The density and polarization profiles of the dipolar hard ellipsoids confined between hard walls are studied using the density functional theory (DFT). The Hyper-Netted Chain (HNC) approximation is used to write excess grand potential of the system with respect to the bulk value. The number density is expanded up to zero and first order in polarization to find the results. For the zero order in...

Carrying Capacity in Barabási-Albert Network

The effect of finiteness in degree number is analyzed on a growing network. The dynamics is governed by a rule where the degree number increases under a scheme similar to the Malthus-Verhulst model in the context of population growth. One notices that the second moment of degree is closely related to the linking probability of this growing network. The degree distribution is analyzed in both st...
